Summary

Description
English: All Saints Church. All Saints church > 1395229 - 1429484 is located in a bend of the B1113 at the north-eastern end of the village. It is kept locked. The church has a 14th century tower but the oldest window is a lancet window in the south aisle, dating from the 13th century. A scratch dial > 1429505 can be seen on the Tudor porch. Restored in the late 19th century, the Jacobean pulpit has survived, and there is a stone coffin lid of Purbeck marble from a time when inscriptions were not used. Fragments of medieval glass > 1429494 were set into one of the south aisle windows. The probably most noteworthy feature of All Saints are the rood screen dados, long since removed from their original place and presently leaning against the south aisle wall. The panels have fine woodcarving and once used to be painted. Only two of these paintings have survived > 1429500 albeit damaged. They are unusual in that they depict religious scenes, rather than saints.
