Deutsch: Friedrich der Zweyte, der mit einer Fackel die Waffen des Krieges angezündet hat, umwindet mit dem friedlichen Oehlzweige, den ihm die Staatsklugheit vorhält, das Bund Wurfpfeile, welches ihm von der Göttin Deutschlands dargereicht wird, hinter dieser steht die Göttin der Eintracht, die man an ihren beiden zusammengeschlungenen Fruchthörnern erkennt.“ (Katalog der Berliner Akademieausstellung des Jahres 1787.) „Die Klugheit hält einen länglich runden metallenen Spiegel, dessen Stiel mit einer Schlange, dem Kennzeichen der Schlauigkeit, umwunden ist. In dem Spiegel sieht die Göttinn was hinter ihr ist: so wie ein Kluger aus dem Vergangenen auf das Zukünftige schließt.“ (Karl Wilhelm Ramler, Allegorische Personen zum Gebrauche der bildenden Künstler, 1.
