The plan is based on a diagram drawn by Tania Dickenson in "The Seventh-Century Cremation Burial in Asthall Barrow, Oxfordshire: A Reassessment" (1992), which is itself based on a 1923 plan by George Bowles, published in the 1924 article "An Anglo-Saxon Cremation-burial of the Seventh Century in Asthall Barrow, Oxfordshire" by Edward Thurlow Leeds, and an unpublished diagram held by the Ashmolean Museum. |
