עברית: בית שערים הוא אתר ארכאולוגי השוכן בגליל התחתון. במקום התקיים יישוב יהודי חשוב בתקופת בית שני,
המשנה והתלמוד. מערת הפרש - מספרה 1. זו המערה הגדולה ביותר שנמצאה בבית שערים. המערה מורכבת מפרוזדור צר ממנו מסתעפים ששה עשר אולמות במפלסי גובה שונים. במערה נמצאו 380 קברים מטיפוסים שונים. הנפוץ בהם הוא קבר מקמר. נמצאו גם קברי כוך וקברים חצובים ברצפת החדר. הכניסה לאולמות הקבורה הייתה דרך דלתות אבן בעלות צירים. במערה נמצאו כתובות בעברית ויוונית, חריתות של סמלים יהודים כמו מנורות, שופרים, לולבים, אתרוגים וכן ספינות, אריות ועוד. שמה של המערה ניתן לה על שם תבליט פרש הרוכב על סוס שנמצא בה. במערה נמצאו כתובות המעידות על קבורתם במקום של יהודים מתדמור שבסוריה של היום.
