English: Arms of John Egerton, 7th Earl of Bridgewater (1753—1823): Egerton quartering Grey (undifferenced), as sculpted on his monument in Little Gaddesden Church, Hertfordshire File:7th Earl of Bridgewater Memorial.jpg John William Egerton, 7th Earl of Bridgewater (1753—1823), of Ashridge House (which he built between 1808 and 1814), in the parish of Little Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, married Charlotte Catherine Anne Haynes (1763—1849), only daughter and heiress of Samuel Haynes (1789-1802), a son of Rev Hopton Haynes, Rector of Elmsett, Suffolk. Arms: Egerton quartering Grey (undifferenced), all impaling Haynes (Or, on a fess gules three plates in chief a greyhound courant azure alternatively Or, on a fess gules three bezants in chief a greyhound courant sable (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.473, Hayne/Haynes )). John Egerton, 7th Earl of Bridgewater was a son of John Egerton, Bishop of Durham (son of Henry Egerton, Bishop of Hereford, youngest son of John Egerton, 3rd Earl of Bridgewater), by his wife Anne Sophia Grey, one of the daughters and co-heiresses of Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Kent.
