Description
English: Tougaloo University founded near Jackson by American Missionary Association (AMA). The Freedmen’s Bureau donated $10,500 to purchase land for the school. The name was changed to Tougaloo College in 1916. Photo c. 1900, shown at http://misspreservation.com/2009/10/02/misspres-news-roundup-10-2-2009/
