Summary

Description
English: Busby's Bore (Map) Building, Vol.23 No.138, 12 Feb 1919, page 84, in an article titled, A GREAT STATE INDUSTRY, THE LIFE AND WORKS OF THE SYDNEY BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE,—II. Original caption reads, "This remarkable tunnel was perforated through the hills of solid rock by convict labor, and, as the convict type was more or less dangerous, Engineer Busby was discreet enough to keep out of the works, so without scientific guidance it reached its destination, which accounts for there being so much water permanently in the tunnel through its depressions, that eels have been found in it big enough to choke a six-inch branch pipe.".
