Summary

Description
English: Commonwealth Railways CA class locomotive, no. CA79, at Port Augusta railway station, South Australia. The locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1907 for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, and served on that railroad as G-4a class engine no. 820. During World War II, it was exported from the USA to Australia. It entered service with the Commonwealth Railways in August 1943 and was officially withdrawn in May 1950, although it is believed to have been taken out of service a year or to earlier.
