Object history
Français : Le pont qui figure sur les armes d’Aire-la-Ville symbolise l’ancien passage sur le Rhône à Peney. Un pont y fut construit en 1853, pour remplacer le bac. La fleur de lis rappelle à la fois Saint-Louis, roi de France, le patron de la paroisse et l’appartenance d’Aire-la-Ville à la France de 1601 à 1760, année de sa rétrocession à la Savoie. La commune d’Aire-la-Ville fut réunie à Genève par le traité de Turin du 16 mars 1816.
