Summary

Description
English: Cafartha (also Nantddu) Mine This is the prominent spoil heap from the Cafartha Mine engine shaft, which lies on the western side of the Nant Ddu about 1km SE of Glaslyn. The slopes of Banc Bugeilyn in the background. Cafartha Mine was worked for lead and copper in Victorian times over a period of 40 or 50 years, but its history is largely one of failure and lost investment.
