Summary
| Description |
English: The Medieval bridge in Castle Coombe is visible in Doctor Doolittle in 1966. The steps and false seafront seem odd as they are more than thirty miles from the sea and the river is almost too shallow for boats. This is because for scenes in the film the production built a false seafront and odd shipping portalong the river bank.
In one scene, Anthony Newley jums onto boats on the river during a musical number, he pushes the boat towards the bridge where it gets stuck as not a single part is able to fit through. This shows-up the bad location as in a shipping village the bridge would be big enough for boats to pass under. |
