Cathedral in the Desert is a stunning monument located in the heart of one of the most beautiful places on earth, Glen Canyon. Originally named for its natural resemblance to a cathedral, it has been buried nearly 100 feet under the flood-waters of Lake Powell reservoir since 1963. David Brower, then head of the Sierra Club, referred to this event as “America’s most regretted environmental mistake.”
With the extreme low water level of Lake Powell caused by the drought, we are so glad to visit this stunning spot. The red boat was the one took us to Reflection Canyon and tour in the lake Powell. 9 vertical images were merged in Photoshop 2021 to create this 274MB-size image.
