Description
English: Communal slaughterhouse building complex. (more formal Central City Communal Slaughterhouse) planned by van der Hude. Builder: architect Gyula Hennicker. Built in 1872. Gate bronze sculptures made by Szilárd Sződy (1937). Replicas . Originals (stone) also located here in 1874 and made by Reinhold Begas. - Soroksári út, Budapest District IX., Hungary.
Magyar: Közvágóhíd épületegyüttese. A központi városi közvágóhíd a Soroksári úton Hennicker Gyula építész kivitelezésével, van der Hude építész tervezésével 1872-ben készült el Budapesti Marhavágóhíd néven. Buda és Pest városának az egyesítésig nem volt közvágóhídja, a mészárosok és hentesek a város által engedélyezett magánvágóhídjaikat használták. A város növekedésével a helyzet tarthatatlanná vált, és Pest város hatósága megszűntette a magánvágóhidak létesítését, és 1868-ban határozatot fogadott el közvágóhíd létesítésére. A kapu két kő oszlopán, közel két és fél méteres kő szarvasmarha és férfi szoboralak. 1937-ben Sződy Szilárd bronzból kiöntette az eredeti,- megrongálodott,-Reinhold Begas féle (1874) kőszobrokat. - Budapest, Ferencváros, Soroksári út 58.
