Summary[edit]

"John Gilliland is on the far left,", the woman in the middle is thought to be Sie Holliday, and Thom Beck is on the far right. The man second from the right is thought to be Chester Coleman. The man second from the left is Mike Dorrough (Mike Dorrough Interview, Radio World June 11, 2008) (KRLA engineer).

While their caption reads "at KRLA", the writing on the sign behind those pictured reads "Pop Chronicles: Stereo 95½ KABC FM Sundays 5-6 p.m. Presented by Sears."

Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It illustrates educational articles about one of the artists who created the radio show, which one of the bases of the artist's notability.
  2. The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic.
  3. The use of the photo will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original. In particular, copies of the image could not be used to make illegal copies of the album artwork on another CD.
  4. It is a low resolution image.
  5. The image is not a portion of a commercial product.
  6. It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value, as this artist has died.
