Summary

Description

Ball-and-stick model of a protonated 2,2′-bipyridine molecule, [C10H9N2]+, as found in the crystal structure reported in Analytical Sciences: X-ray Structure Analysis Online (2005) 21 x85-x86 (CSD entry CASZIG). In this crystal, the molecule adopts a cis geometry with both nitrogen atoms on the same side. The alternative trans geometry has been reported in other crystal structures such as COWQIR.
