Description
English: Nikkō Kanaya Hotel coffee pot and set in maple leaves design (紅葉). In 1888, the hotel opened as a full-scale hotel in Nikkō, which was popular among foreigners as a summer resort during the Meiji era. The coffee pot and cups in red maple leaves design was used at the time of opening, and as a truly Japanese design, delighted foreign guests. Collection Meiji Mura Museum, display in the Imperial Hotel lobby café.[1]
