Summary

Description
English: Ex-Midland Johnson 3F 0-6-0T at Cricklewood Locomotive Depot.
No. 7207 (withdrawn 2/64) is one of 20 or so of the Johnson '2441' class of 1899 which were fitted with condensing apparatus for working through the tunnels of the Metropolitan Widened lines. Cricklewood Depot (coded 14A) adjoined Brent Sidings, its engines working mainly on shunting and distributing in the London area the massive freight and mineral traffic of the Midland Main Line. It serviced the incoming heavy freight locomotives and had its own allocation in 1946 of 85, comprising:- 2 2-6-0, 29 0-6-0, 13 2-6-2T, 39 0-6-0T and 2 0-4-4T. All the activity was readily seen from the A5 road which ran beside it.
