Summary

Description
English: The Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R) monument to the American Redout [sic] after the Battle of Fort Washington, the Continental Army's last position before crossing the Hudson River near Jeffrey's Hook to Fort Lee, New Jersey. The marker is located almost underneath the approach to the George Washington Bridge, in Fort Washington Park, Manhattan, New York City. It was erected in 1910 and part of it is marred by graffiti. As of 2016, a Boy Scout, as his project to become an Eagle Scout, spearheaded the project to lay a path to the marker, with the support of the Riverside Park Conservancy and assistance from the New York City Parks Department. Before that, the marker was difficult to find and access through the thick undergrowth. The Parks Department labelled the pathway to the marker with a sign.
