Summary

Description
English: A captured Douglas DC-5 in service with the Japanese Army. This aircraft, the ex-KLM "PK-ADA" was used to ferry refugees to Australia. It was about to take off from Kemayoran airport at Jakarta (then Batavia) in April 1942 when it was damaged and had to be abandoned. It was repaired by the Japanese and flown to Japan where it was studied at the Tachikawa Aeronautical Institute. It ended its life as a navigational trainer there.
