Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen ist der Gemeinde Merklingen am 17. November 1952 von der vorläufigen Landesregierung verliehen worden. Es zeigt ein Wahrzeichen des alten Leineweberdorfs, das Bleichhäusle. Ferner sollen die silbernen (weißen) Felder in dem mehrfach von Grün und Silber geteilten und gespaltenen Berg an die Leinwandbleiche erinnern. Das Landratsamt Alb-Donau-Kreis hat die Flagge am 6. Oktober 1981 verliehen.
