Español: Retrato al daguerrotipo de una bailarina de la escuela bolera, con castañuelas, hacia el año 1850. La pieza original se conserva en la Fototeca del IPCE (Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España), en Madrid. Es un daguerrotipo de placa entera, del tamaño máximo estándar. La placa plateada mide casi 21 x 15 centímetros. La bailarina simula el movimiento, a pesar de estar retratada inmóvil, con una exposición larga, de unos 10 segundos. Es una obra maestra de la Historia de la Fotografía. Parece tratarse de la bailarina francesa Marie Guy-Stéphan, que actuó en el Teatro del Circo, en Madrid, entre los años 1843 y 1851. En España aprendió el baile bolero, y competía con las mejores bailarinas españolas.
English: Hand-coloured daguerreotype portrait of a bolero dancer with castanets, circa 1850. The original piece is preserved in the Photo Library IPCE (Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain) in Madrid. It's a whole plate daguerreotype, the maximum size standard. It is a masterpiece of the History of Photography.
