Le décor de ces carreaux de céramique avec un lustre métallique fait partie des innovations mises au point en Irak au IXè siècle. Ces carreaux proviennent de la tombe d'un descendant du Prophète Mahomet à Varamin près de Téhéran.

Tous les carreaux sont différents, ils étaient entourés de citations du Coran.
