Summary

Description 1617 decoratively carved oak chimneypiece formerly in the Dodderidge House, Cross Street, Barnstaple, decorated with two strapwork panels inhabited by putti and showing at middle top the date 1617 with to the left the initials "PD" (for Pentecost Dodderidge (d.circa 1650) and to right "ED" (for Elizabeth Wescombe his wife). Now in the "Dodderidge Room", in the Barnstaple Guildhall with other oak panelling from Dodderidge House. ( Lamplugh, Lois, Barnstaple: Town on the Taw, South Molton, 2002, p.134)
