English: Detail derived from File:Mappa Thaneti Insule.jpg, showing the churches of All Saints, St Nicholas and St Giles on the Isle of Thanet in the early 15th century, with a stylised view of St Mary's church, Reculver, inset: north is at left; the stretch of water is the Wantsum Channel; and the person being carried to a boat is a monk, while his bearer is wearing a badge with a crucifix, marking him as an ecclesiastical servant (see Lewis, John, The History and Antiquities Ecclesiastical and Civil of the Isle of Tenet in Kent, 1773, p. 27)
