July 23, 1903 Chemical Company 5 was organized and placed in service at 3203 Nichols Ave. S.E. (now Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. S.E.) with a 1903 American La France double tank 170 gallon chemical engine.
July 2, 1913 Chemical Company 5 was disbanded and replaced with the organization of Engine Company 25 at the same location. Engine 25 went in service with a 1913 Ahrens Fox 700 GPM motor pumper. (ran as combination hose wagon and pumper).
March 2, 1926, Edward F. Laughton, Private Engine Co. 25. Died of injuries sustained when a chimney fell during a fire at a farm house in Gibson Point, 4th & Portland Streets S.E. Box 944.
December 4, 1947, Lloyd A. Irwin, Private, Engine Co. 25. Died from a heart attack in quarters after returning from an alarm.
