Summary

The picture shows white troops in the russian civil war, during their evacuation in 1920. www.marxists.org gives as the place of the photo novosibirsk, but this is highly unlikely (it's not a coastal town and was never in 1920 under white control). I'd rather say it was novorossisk or one of the crimean ports.
