DescriptionEzra and Elizabeth Goodrich House Milton Wisconsin 2021-3474.jpg
English: Ezra and Elizabeth Goodrich House, Milton, Wisconsin. "In 1867, Ezra Goodrich and his wife, Elizabeth, built this house as their family home in Milton. Like his father, Joseph Goodrich, who built the innovative grout-constructed Milton House, Ezra Goodrich designed his Italianate home with details that were different from other homes of this style in Milton. The house was designed with a rectangular form popular to the style, but lacked the typical roofline of bracketed cornice and frieze. Rather, Goodrich accented the cornice of his house with large oculus windows, a detail not seen anywhere else in the community. The interior of the house was also unusual, with a distinctive four-room plan that repeated on each of the three stories of the house, creating four large elegant family rooms and eight large bedrooms."--Wisconsin Historical Society.
