Fire Station No. 1 is an example of an eclectic, mid-20th century fire station and Italianate Revival influences. Designed by the renowned Kansas architectural firm Cuthbert & Suerhk, Station No. 1 embodies the mid-20th-Century functionality required by professional firehouses in materials and construction techniques, while incorporating Italianate influences in its appearance and choice of exterior materials.
