Public domain This is a reproduction of a unit of currency that is or was in use in Peru. Some desings are is now in the public domain in Peru, because according to the Law 13714 (1961) its term of copyright has expired after 15-25 years from the date of publication or public presentation as a case where the work belongs to a legal personality and they are not renewed by D.L. 822. These are the already expired designs:
  • All the designs submitted before December 31, 1970 by Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) or published anonymously before December 31, 1980. Also, designs before of creation of BCRP in 1922 were expired before the Law 13714 (see Law 4500, D.T. 1).
  • Texts in coins like year of published and "Un Sol de Oro" (A Golden Sun, created on February 15, 1966) lacks originality.
  • Use of Coat of arms: The work was originally created on February 14, 1863 in reversal coin of sol as shield during the mandate of President Miguel de San Román. The shield was created more than 120 years ago.


Banknotes/coins designed after December 31, 1980 renewed under D.L. 822: The Central Reserve Bank of Peru holds the copyright on the banknotes/coins called "Nuevo Sol" (today Sol). All original banknotes/coins designed after December 31, 1990 will be deleted as a {{Copyvio}}. But, the status of previous currency Inti is unknown. See COM:CRT/Peru#Currency for more information.
