Summary

Description

Gamesley is a local government district in the High Peak of Derbyshire, it is known for the Roman fort of Ardotalia, and the Manchester overspill housing estate built where the vicus used to be.

Ardotalia was known in Victorian times as Melandra Castle, which is preserved in current street names.
