Ganesh ou Ganessa debout Style de My Son E1 fin du VIIè siècle grès gris Cette importante statue de Ganesh semble avoir été la divinité du temple E5 de My Son. Elle atteste de la popularité du culte de ce dieu au Champa.


Construit par l’École Française d’Extrême-Orient en 1915, le musée fut initialement baptisé Musée Henri Parmentier (nom de l’un des premiers explorateurs des sites du Royaume du Champa). Les oeuvres sont classées par provenance et par période, ce qui permet de suivre, de salle en salle, l’évolution de l’art cham au niveau de la sculpture. La majorité des objets proviennent des sites de Tra Kieu (ancienne capitale administrative du Royaume du Champa), de My Son, de Dong Duong (centre bouddhiste) et de Thap Man.
