Description
English: The remains of the artillerie platform of the former German cannon Lange Max in Koekelare, Belgium. The Lange Max Museum is a must-see place for those interested in World War 1 and is situated on the German side of the Western Front. The farmyard is the centre of this cultural location. A long lane takes you from the farmyard to the remains of the artillery platform of the former German cannon ‘Lange Max’. In a brand new contemporary museum, the visitor learns all about the largest cannon of its time that was designed to bombard Dunkirk.The museum focuses on the German occupation of Koekelare with a unique exhibition about the organisation behind the frontline and the production of army goods. It also featuers the little Bakehouse, which still contains traces of the German presence, and is now a multimedia room.
