Description
English: Engraving from the early 19th century showing a monk from a mendicant order being expelled from his secularized monastery under the lamentations of the local populace. In Germany, a large number of abbeys and other religious establishments were dissolved in the course of the German mediatization and secularization process of 1802-1803.
