English: Life restoration of the Maastrichtian mosasaur Goronyosaurus nigeriensis (Swinton et al., 1930) from the Iullemmeden Basin of Niger and Nigeria, reconstructed as a plioplatecarpine following Strong et al. (2020) and Longrich et al. (2024).
Reference: Head is informed by the skull reconstruction in Lingham-Soliar (1991), which is based on IGF 14750, BMNH R11909, and BMNH R11947. Lingham-Soliar (1999) was not used due to the author's preference for the former. Postcranial body proportions and tail are based on Platecarpus skeleton LACM 128319 (Lindgren et al., 2010) following their phylogenetic relatedness. Appendicular skeleton is speculative but inspired from Ectenosaurus (Russell, 1967) as artistic choice.
