Distribution: Indian subcontinent and tropical Africa, in scrubs of drylocalities.
1.5-2m tall much branched shrubs. Branchlets stellate hairy; Leaves 1.5-2x 1.5-3cm, ovate, serrate, glabrous above, stellate beneath, 3-5nerved. Flowers 1-1.5cm across, white, solitary or 2-3, axillary or leaf opposed; Corolla 5 spreading, Stamens many, ovary 2-4celled. Drupes 0.8-1cm across, 4 lobed, yellowish, edible.
