Summary

Description

A Danish-built "Kustpilen" (coast arrow) train at Hässleholm, Sweden station. It originated in Kristianstad, and took Janet and me to the ferry at Helsingborg, on our way to Denmark, and ultimately to Germany. Sussie and Seppo's son Pierre (about 10) is posing by the train. It was called IC3 in Denmark and Y2 in Sweden.

The train set is named for Rutger Maclean (1742-1816). He was a major figure in agricultural reform. He owned Svaneholm, an estate of 8,500 acres (3,400 ha) near Skurup, in the southernmost part of Skane (and Sweden). He transformed the patchwork of allotments into larger fields, suitable for efficient farming.
