Description

Explanation (and answer to Coop's question):

These shots were taken a few weeks back whilst traversing the Adelaide park lands (between Greenhill Road and South Terrace, along Unley Road) looking for MACRO shots. By chance I caught this guy getting some 'air', so I introduced myself by saying ... "Hey, want to get your face, name and bike on the internet? I have an account at flickr.com". None of them knew anything about flickr.com!

Brad Earl, formerly of Mount Gambier, now an Adelaide resident and down-hill racer was happy with the idea. Whereas the two teenagers who arrived shortly were just thrilled to have an audience!

I told Brad just to keep doing what he wanted - riding around the berms - but a few 'air' shots would also be good! He smiled and promptly gave me some decent shots! Thanks Brad!

What I really wanted was some shadows of bikes without loosing focus on the bike. I learnt very quickly to put the EOS400D on "SPORTS", then follow the camera through the air as I shot dozens of images. Initially I was simply doing SINGLE shooting - but through interesting testing discovered that CONTINUOUS SHOOTING would allow me to edit out the good shots later!

Yes, this was a great opportunity to test some of the features of the EOS400D. Every time I turn it on there is something new to discover and learn!
