Description
English: One of the oldest city seals of the city of Utrecht. Member of the clergy sitting prominently on a seat in a church. The person is either Saint Martin, patron of the town of Utrecht, or Bishop Jan van Nassau. Seal ca. 1277, Centraal Gemeente Museum (Utrecht).
Nederlands: Een na oudste bekende stadszegel van de stad Utrecht. Prominent op een zetel in een kerk zit een geestelijke. Dat is Sint Maarten, beschermheilige van de stad of bisschop Jan van Nassau. Als randversiering is een ommuring aangebracht die veel prominenter aanwezig is in het oudst bekende stadszegel. Zegel uit ca. 1277 is in bezit van Centraal Gemeente Museum (Utrecht).
