Summary

Description
English: Ingleton Viaduct This was part of the original route from Settle northwards which the Midland Railway wanted, but was part of the London and North Western Railway. No amicable agreement could ever be reached between the two companies, and eventually the Midland Railway solved the problem by building the Settle and Carlisle line. The Ingleton route was forever destined to be a backwater and closed to passenger traffic in 1954.
