Summary

Description
English: Place: Guangzhou, Guangdong Province

Chinese name: 金杯海星T20 (jīnbēi hǎixīng T20) Year of launch: 2012

Jinbei is a company owned by Brilliance Auto and was established in 1988. It produces different generations of the Toyota Hiace in license, but also produces the S30/S35 compact SUVs, the S50 (Kia Sorento copy), S70/Diazi (Acura MDX copy), cheap MPVs and light trucks.

Jinbei produces a wide lineup of little so called bread vans. The Xiaojinniu (little golden cow) is similar to the vans produced by Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK), a little bit more modern is the Haixing (sea star) range, which consists of vans and chassis cabs. A larger series of bread vans is sold under names like Xinyuan, Haishi (sea lion) and Xiaohaishi (little sea lion), basically all variations of the same model.

It seems the Haixing range is based on the Image of the defunct Hanjiang brand, which was later sold by Gonow, a brand which also no longer exists.
