Description
English: John Wesley AME Zion Church, national church of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination, located at 1615 14th Street, N.W., in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.


Designed by architects Murdock and Harding in 1894, the Romanesque Revival-style building originally housed Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church. The current property owner, John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church (est. 1847), moved to the 14th Street location in 1913. The building was listed as a D.C. Historic Landmark on July 24, 1968. In addition, the church is a designated contributing property to the Fourteenth Street Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
