Summary

Description
English: The diagram is rather intuitive than strict specification:
  • The top - Application layer : big box with GUI, LAMP, Net and GCC, Core utils, bash -
    • The post top row: GUI, LAMP, Net - task specific set of applications application. Could be optional on some systems. For example just web server would not have GUI.
    • The second row: GCC, Core utils, bash - basic applications. GCC is optional for end user and essential for building system and upgrading from sources.
  • In the Middle - Library layer
  • On the bottom kernel with main components and hardware
