Giovanni del Drago, New York, New York, by 1939. Principessa Hercolani, Rome, Italy, by 1961. (F. Kleinberger and Co., Inc., New York, New York); purchased by MIA in 1962

[1] Maria Cristina of the Two Sicilies; daughter of Francis I of the Two Sicilies; married to Ferdinand VII, King of Spain [1784-1833]; remarried Duque de Riansarès. A sale was held in Paris, April 16, 1879 of Queen Maria Christina's collection, it is unsure if this work was in that sale.

[2] According to the Getty Provenance Index, Principe del Filippo Drago was married to Queen Maria Cristina's daughter Maria. Several artworks were gifted to Maria on the occasion of her marriage, c. 1859 from the Queen.
