Deutsch: Der Husarentempel, einer der ersten Kriegerdenkmäler Österreichs, in der niederösterreichischen Stadtgemeinde Mödling.
Der Tempel wurde 1813 nach Plänen des Architekten Joseph Kornhäusel und im Auftrag des Fürsten Johann I. Josef von Liechtenstein auf dem 496 m hohen Kleiner Anninger errichtet. Er ist den Gefallenen der Schlacht bei Aspern (1809) gewidmet. Die gängige Bezeichnung als „Husarentempel“ geht auf die irrige Überlieferung zurück, Fürst Liechtenstein sei von vier Husaren in der Schlacht bei Deutsch Wagram das Leben gerettet worden. Erst nachträglich wurden sieben (fünf) gefallene Soldaten im Gewölbe unter dem Tempel beigesetzt: [1]. English: Husarentempel at Mödling near Vienna, Austria. |
