Other information

All Marvel characters and the distinctive likeness(es) thereof are Trademarks & Copyright © 1963 Marvel Characters, Inc. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Although the picture is originally copyright, it is covered by fair use because:

  1. It is a low resolution copy of a comic book cover, hence, only a small portion of the commercial product;
  2. The use of the image will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to sell or distribute the original comic book;
  3. Copies of this image could not be used to make illegal copies of the comic book;
  4. The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of topics in the article. For a visual medium such as comic books, words alone cannot adequately describe the subject;
  5. This image is not an accurate reproduction of the cover of the original comic book.
  6. It differs in the following ways:
    Text stating "DON'T MISS THIS FABULOUS FIRST ISSUE" is in White Text in Green Text Box
    Blue streaks shown near 'Angel' are not present on the original cover.
    Stripes on 'Magneto' are all red on the original cover.
    No Green circle box around "IN THE SENSATIONAL FANTASTIC FOUR STYLE"
    'Angel's' left wingtip is in front of 'Marvel Girl's' hand on the original.

There are other differences as well.

This is a cover from a reissue in the 1990's
