Summary

Description
English: "The artist expresses fascination for the possibility of enlivening abandoned urban spaces. Here we see a discarded couch from which a stream of painted flowers pours forth. The artist has incorporated recycled materials into this installation, describing how, “the aim of this piece is to add life and colour to the disused, abandoned and discarded. The past lives of discarded objects and abandoned spaces can be filled with history and colour - these objects and spaces also have great potential for being recycled to create something new and beautiful.” The work also resonates with the constant flow and change that takes place in Moreland. This optimistic vision hints at the possibilities of transformation for even the emptiest, greyest of places."

From Brunswick to Fawkner, the temporary Moreart public exhibition of artworks challenges and provokes the residents of Moreland. Some are located inside train stations, while others are in public spaces such as outside the Brunswick Mechanics Institute or Victoria Mall Coburg.

Squeaky Wheel conducted a number of tours by bicycle of the exhibition. These are my pics from one such ride on Sunday 20 October 2013
