Summary

Description
English: Nahunta (American Barge, 1866) Photographed prior to her World War I naval service. Formerly named West Point, this seagoing iron coal barge was originally built as a merchant sailing vessel. She was commissioned by the Navy as USS Nahunta on 8 August 1917. Stricken on 13 June 1919, she was sold on 2 October 1919. Nahunta had no Navy registry number. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
