Summary

Description
English: Cropped version of MI5/Security Service image, taken between 1944-1946 of Nathalie SERGUEIEW, alias Lily, codename TREASURE: French. SERGUEIEW, a pre-war journalist based in Paris, offered her services to an acquaintance working for German Intelligence with the express intention of double crossing them. After lengthy training by the Abwehr she travelled to Spain where she made contact with British Intelligence and came to England in 1943. Here she became an important Double Cross agent for MI5 and was used as a channel for deception. Material passed over her radio included reports designed to mislead the enemy regarding troop assembly in Southern England prior to D-day. Her radio link to her German controller in Paris was used by MI5 right up to the liberation of that city
