Summary
| Description |
English: The National Metropolitan Bank Building (now part of the Metropolitan Square complex) located at 613 15th Street, NW in downtown Washington, D.C. It was designed by B. Stanley Simmons in 1905 and is an example of Beaux-Arts architecture. On September 13, 1978, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. All but the facade was razed in in 1983, and two Modernist floors (set back from the structure's original mansard roof) added. The new interior and upper floors were design by architect w:Vlastimil Koubek. It's a contributing property to the Fifteenth Street Financial Historic District. |
