Français : Le naufrage du vaisseau Le Républicain (ancien Royal Louis lancé en 1780) sur la roche du Mingant le 24 décembre 1794 alors qu'il sortait du port de Brest pour aller à la rencontre de la flotte anglaise ; il était alors en très mauvais état après avoir participé à la "bataille du 13 prairial an II" dite aussi "bataille d'Ouessant" au cours de laquelle il avait été démâté (dessin aquarelle et encre de Chine).
